Customizing SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace with Standard Extractor Code

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to customize SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace with the standard extractor option.

Standard Extractor Code – Customizing Options

In addition to standard capabilities, SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace offers the ability to customize functionality for specific use cases.

Send Necessary Documents to GTT system

By default, all documents and their actual events are marked as "GTT Relevant" and ready to send to the Global Track and Trace system. But you have the flexibility to choose to send only necessary documents and events that meets your business needs.

Define Custom Fields in Tracked Processes

Additional information can be defined in tracked processes in addition to the standard fields. This requires adding a user model field with IDoc mapping in the Manage Models app. You need to define a new field in the output structure, as well as its mapping, in the respective tracked process class.

Add/Remove Custom Planned Events

In addition to the standard list of milestone events, you can also plan and report against custom events in the supported tracking scenarios. This requires both creating the planned event in the model in GTT and post-exit implementation so that the data reported against this event can flow back into SAP Transportation Management.

Enhancing Actual Event

Global Track and Trace allows you to send additional information for an event. This requires creating a user-defined field in Manage Models app, along with post-exit in the relevant class, based on the tracking scenario.

Note

Explore all the customization options in the SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace help.
