Customer Data

To access the individual company code settings of a customer, use the Manage Business Partner Master Data app. Select the customer financial accounting role, select the company codes tab, and choose the company code to review. Configure the settings required to communicate with the customer in the Correspondence tab. The key accounting settings of the customer are carried out in the Finance tab. Four sections are available here. Most of the settings are typically optional depending on the configuration. In the Accounting section, it is mandatory to determine the Customer Reconciliation account. This is a balance sheet account that will be updated automatically with every posting made at the customer level. Manual journal entries to the Reconciliation account are not allowed. In the Payment Data section, choose the payment terms that will be defaulted to invoices or credit memos created by the Accounting Department. The Logistics Department, MM, can use different default payment terms if required. This default value can be manually modified on each accounting document. The Automatic Payment Transaction section will define several key settings involved in automatic payments. For example, only the payment methods listed here can be used by the automatic payment program to pay this customer. Also, it is possible to block all the automatic payments to the customer using customizable reason codes. In some rare occasions, it might be necessary to don a customer. For example, if the customer takes long to reimburse goods that our company returned. For this purpose, the Dunning Data tab contains settings required to execute the Dunning Program, Dunning Area and Procedure, Dunning Block, etc., info on the last Dunning run, date, and highest level reached. Additional tabs allow to set up the Customer Master Record for the calculation of withholding taxes, if this module has been implemented. Standard texts can be associated to the customer account. Attachments can be linked to the Customer Master Record for future reference.
