Executing Large Integration Scenario 1 – Overview

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to give an overview of the large integration scenario.

Overview of the Large Integration Scenario

In the next chapters, we'll look at a scenario with advanced integration aspects for Variant Configuration.

Business scenario

The following scenario covers a make-to-order production with Variant Configuration. It also shows advanced integration aspects.

The question is now: Which Variant Configuration application and which integration aspect can be used?

This figure explains the large Integration Scenario at a Glance. It covers Variant Configuration and all major areas of supply chain management, like Planning and Manufacturing, Sales and Distribution, or Materials Management. Plant Maintenance and Customer Service are also included.

This example includes a model with all configurable object types, processes in many modules of the SAP solutions, and a high degree of integration.

This figure explains the large integration scenario in more detail. You work with configurable Materials, configurable Standard Networks, configurable General Maintenance Lists, and Model Service Specifications.

The aim is to handle only one configuration throughout the process. The example uses the configuration in Sales and Distribution. The configuration is automatically transferred to the applications in other modules as part of the integration.

You can also explicitly configure in almost all places where you work with variant configuration.

How to Get an Overview of AVC Model Master Data

The following simulation gives you an overview of the existing AVC model with the following transactions:

  • PMEVC
  • CC04

You would like to display parts of the product structure of the configurable material T-FCBC## using the product structure browser. The question is now: Which links of the material can you recognize at the highest level of the product structure?

Also a display of master data takes place.

How to Create New Master Data for LO-VC Model

The following simulation shows you how to create a LO-VC model by copying or assigning the required master data. Finally, the data are checked.
