Adding and Removing a BIN Restriction

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to add a new credit card BIN Restriction and remove an existing BIN Restriction in Company Administration for Concur Travel.

Add a BIN Restriction

Using the available fields on the Credit Card BIN Restrictions page, you can specify sets of BINs to restrict credit cards for specific travel configurations. When there's one BIN, you can only enter cards starting with that number. If multiple BINs exist, you can enter cards starting with any of those numbers. If no restrictions are specified, you can save credit cards with any valid credit card number.

Let’s look at adding a BIN restriction. Review the following steps to learn more.

Steps

  1. In the New BIN Restriction field, enter the BIN that applies to users in the travel configuration.

  2. If you have more than one travel configuration, select the appropriate travel configuration in the Travel Configuration dropdown menu.

  3. Select Add.

Result

The BIN appears in the list on the lower half of the page.

The users belonging to the travel configuration the BIN restriction was added to will only be allowed to add credit cards that start with the specified BIN. Any other credit card number will not be accepted, and the user will be presented with a message.

A popup message states, Your company only allows corporate credit cards for booking travel. The number you entered is not in the range allowed by your company. The OK button is highlighted in pink. Note

BIN restrictions only apply to credit cards that are entered after the BIN restriction was added. BIN restrictions don't apply to credit cards that are already added to a traveler’s profile. If you want to restrict all credit cards to a specific BIN range, we recommend you remove any existing credit cards from user profiles, set the BIN restriction, and re-enter the cards.

Delete a BIN Restriction

Now that you’ve seen how to add a BIN restriction, let’s look at how we can delete one. Review the following steps to learn more.

Steps

  1. In the Delete BIN restriction from section, select the appropriate Travel Configuration from theExisting BIN Restrictions by Travel Config dropdown menu, if applicable.

  2. In the Select BIN restriction to delete field, select the BIN restriction that you want to delete.

  3. Select Delete.

The BIN restriction has been removed.
