Introducing Custom Fields

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to identify the benefits of Custom Fields and differentiate between User fields and Trip fields in Company Administration for Concur Travel.

Manage Custom Fields

Custom Fields is an administrative feature of Concur Travel where you can create customized fields to capture customer- or TMC-specific data. The two types of custom fields are the following:

  • User fields, which are captured in the travel profile, are synchronized to the TMC via their profile sync method.
  • Trip fields, which are captured during the booking process, are written to the Passenger Name Record (PNR) created in the Global Distribution System (GDS) of the TMC by the Concur Finishing Template.
An image of a female professional with the text: “We want to capture our employees' departments when they book travel. Can we do this in Concur??” The quote is attributed to Priyanka Gupta, Cost Center Management.

The Manage Custom Fields tool enables administrators to customize fields in their travel configuration, to capture customer- or TMC-specific data which includes employee departments, billing information, purpose of travel, project data, and so on.

Accessing Manage Custom Fields

To access custom fields, select Manage Custom Fields in the left menu panel.

The image shows the Company Administration page of the SAP Concur administration portal. On the left, there is a navigation menu under Company Admin with several options, including Manage Custom Fields, which is highlighted.
