Introducing Custom Text

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain the purpose of Custom Text in Concur Travel.

Custom Text Overview

Custom Text is an administrative feature in Concur Travel that allows site customization through text and HTML. Custom Text is frequently used to announce new policies, as well as highlight particular rules and features. The administrator can also modify the existing text that users see, as they work with different parts of the Travel Wizard, such as hotel search and airfares.

You need permission to access this feature. The permission might vary depending on your role and responsibilities:

  • Company Administration or Travel Policy Administrator permission allows you to access Custom Text from a customer site in the Travel Policy Administration section.
  • Travel Agent permission, which displays the Travel System Admin, and the link Travel Text Customization will appear in the Company-Specific Configuration section.

To access Custom Text, from Travel Policy Administration, select the Custom Text tab on the Travel Policy Administration page.

The screenshot shows the SAP Concur Travel Policy Administration page. The interface has a left sidebar with navigation links organized under Company Admin, User Administration, and Travel Administration headings. In the main area, the header reads Travel Policy Administration, and tabs are displayed across the top, including Travel Policy, Policy Violation Reasons, Travelfusion Suppliers, Vendor FolID Admin, Travel Vendor Exclusions, Custom Text (highlighted), Regional Hotel Rates, and Travel Alternatives.

To access Custom Text, from Travel System Admin, select the Custom Text tab on the Travel System Administration page, under Company-Specific Configuration section.

The screenshot shows the SAP Concur Administration interface, specifically within the Company Travel Setup section under the Travel System Admin page. On the left sidebar, various configuration options are listed, including Travel Text Customization highlighted in yellow. In the main area, there are details for three configured companies, each displaying company/configuration names, IDs, agency booking config, GDS, PCC, ARC/IATA, and Travel Edition. The top right offers an option to add a new company, and inactive configurations can be toggled. The SAP Concur logo is visible at the top left. The image features a bright blue background with the distinctive SAP anvil shape in black on the left side. Within this SAP anvil shape, large bold white text reads, “I need to inform employees of a new policy. How can I do that in Concur Travel?” At the bottom left, the text identifies the speaker as “Raven Mitchell, HR Manager.” The right side of the image shows a person standing with hands on hips, dressed in a light-colored blouse.

Custom text can be entered in several categories as depicted in the following graphic. Each option displays the text in different parts of Concur Travel for the end users. Each of the areas to be modified has a default setting. Review the following graphic and table to learn more about each option.
