Creating a Guided Sourcing Event

Category managers can create and view a single guided sourcing project from an active initiative in the Monitor Strategy Execution application.

To create a guided sourcing project:

1. Select an initiative from the Planning Calendar. A panel appears with details of the initiative. An Associated Guided Sourcing Project field with a Create Guided Sourcing Project button appears in the Initiate Progress section.
2. Select Create Guided Sourcing Project.
3. When you create a guided sourcing project from an initiative, link the initiative’s goal to the guided sourcing project to ensure that the target savings are met.
4. You are redirected to the Create guided sourcing project page of the SAP Ariba Sourcing application. The fields in the initiative are mapped to the sourcing project fields:

   Initiative	Guided Sourcing Project
   Name	Name
   Description	Description
   Category	Category
   Asignee	Owner
   Start Date and End Date	Planned Start Date and Planned End Date
   Baseline Spend/Currency	Baseline Spend/Currency
   (Estimated Benefit of Goal/Baseline Spend) *100	Target Savings %

5. Continue to add other details to the sourcing project. Ensure that you complete all required fields that are marked with an asterisk.
6. Select the appropriate template.
7. Choose Create.

To view a sourcing project or contract from the planning calendar:

1. Identify the period within the Planning Calendar where the sourcing project or contract is located.
2. Select the sourcing project or contract.
3. Select Go to Project or Go to Contract.
