Setting up the Implementation Workspaces

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to set up the implementation workspaces for the development system tenants

Implementation Workspace Setup

SAP Central Business Configuration is the tool for managing the following tasks in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition systems:

  • Activating business process content for specific countries and regions.
  • Defining core finance settings, such as group currency and fiscal year variants, for the entire system.
  • Setting up the customer's organizational structure.
  • Entering configuration values for active business processes.

During implementation, the partner lead configuration expert creates two workspaces in SAP Central Business Configuration using the Implementation workspace type.

You must individually activate the scope, build the organizational structure, select finance settings, and enter configuration values for each workspace.

This separate configuration is required because one workspace connects to the customizing tenant and one workspace connects to the development tenant of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud development system.

Create one workspace per SAP S/4HANA Cloud Development System tenant

The partner lead configuration expert creates two Implementation workspaces in SAP Central Business Configuration.

One workspace connects to the customizing tenant (client 100), while the other connects to the development tenant (client 80) of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud development system.

Add team members to each workspace

Add relevant team members to the workspace, including partner LoB configuration experts, the customer IT contact, and project managers from both the customer and partner sides.

The partner lead configuration expert performs most setup activities in SAP Central Business Configuration, following a process similar to the starter system setup.

Partner LoB configuration experts access SAP Central Business Configuration during the Product-Specific Configuration phase.

In this phase, they enter configuration values based on the Business Driven Configuration Questionnaires completed during the Fit-to-Standard workshops.

Complete activities in the Scope phase

The lead configuration expert must open and complete all activities within the Scope phase in SAP Central Business Configuration.

Where to find the finalized business scope?

The finalized list of business processes and target countries/regions is documented in the SAP Cloud ALMProcesses app.

During the Fit-to-Standard workshops, LoB configuration experts refine the process list and document specific customization requirements.

Ensure all relevant processes are set to Realization status before proceeding.
