Using the Embedded Support Capabilities and the Joule Generative AI Assistant

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to access the embedded support and Joule

SAP Fiori launchpad Embedded Help and Support

Embedded Help in the SAP Fiori launchpad

The SAP Fiori launchpad includes built-in, context-sensitive help. When working in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, select the question mark icon in the top-right corner to activate a screen overlay. This overlay explains the different sections and navigation options for your current page, using information directly from the SAP Help Portal.

Hint

LoB configuration experts should demonstrate this feature during Fit-to-Standard workshops. This ensures customer LoB experts know how to access on-demand assistance within SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

In the Help Topics menu, select the graduation cap icon to view interactive simulations relevant to your current screen. If no specific simulations are available for that app, you can open the learning center to browse all standard simulations organized by business role.

These simulations are created using SAP Enable Now. Customers can access them directly within SAP S/4HANA Cloud or via the SAP Signavio Process Navigator. Most simulations follow the standard test scripts defined for business processes in Process Navigator.

If a customer's business processes deviate significantly from the standard, they should consider purchasing an SAP Enable Now license. This allows them to download and edit original simulations or create custom content to embed back into SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

To find information about recent functional changes, select the megaphone icon in the Help Topics menu. This links to the What's New Viewer in the SAP Help Portal, filtered for the screen you are currently using.

Embedded Support in the SAP Fiori launchpad

SAP support channels are also integrated into the SAP Fiori launchpad. In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, select the headphones icon in the top-right corner to open the support menu. A series of onboarding screens will guide you through the available support capabilities.

Once onboarding is complete, select the information icon to view recommended tutorial videos. Note that these videos are distinct from the SAP Enable Now simulations.

To access the full range of support features, users must set up an SAP Universal ID. This ID links all individual SAP accounts into a single user profile. For more details, refer to the Universal ID FAQ.Screenshots of the embedded support in the SAP Fiori launchpad.

SAP Joule - The Generative AI Digital Assistant

Joule is the next-generation generative AI copilot that replaces the previous digital assistant, SAP Conversational AI.

While traditional conversational AI generates responses based on user input, generative AI creates entirely new content. Joule leverages user input and historical data patterns to provide intelligent, context-aware support.

Because Joule is embedded across the SAP ecosystem, it provides a holistic experience. Employees can ask questions in natural language and receive answers based on data from the entire SAP portfolio.

For example, a manufacturer can use Joule to analyze sales performance:

  • Identify underperforming regions.
  • Link to data sets that reveal supply chain issues.
  • Connect to the supply chain system to suggest potential solutions for review.

New scenarios are released regularly. Joule complies with SAP product standards, AI ethics, and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, access Joule by selecting the diamond icon in the top-right corner.

Joule runs on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and requires initial configuration by a partner implementation team.

Since the service runs on SAP BTP, you must subscribe to the service and configure authentication between SAP Cloud Identity Services, SAP BTP, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Detailed instructions for setting up and enabling Joule are available on the SAP Help Portal.
