Enabling User Access to Tiles and Dashboards

A user can have access through sharing to a tile-based dashboard, but NOT have permission to see all the tiles in the dashboard.

Each tile has a permission. The permission is set in Manage permission roles under reporting permissions. You will find the tiles in the list of Analytics tiles and standard dashboards.

This permission decides if a user has access to see a specific tile. If the user has access to see a tile, the user will see it everywhere it has been enabled. It is possible to share a tile-based dashboard with users but include tiles that they do not have permission to access.

To assign permission to run a tile or a standard dashboard, complete the following steps:

1. Navigate to Manage Role Permissions.
2. Select the appropriate role.
3. Verify that the Permission tab is selected and choose the Edit button.
4. Choose Next to move to the Add Permissions tab.
5. Navigate to the Report Permissions category in User Permissions.
6. To allow a user to run all or certain tiles and standard dashboards, enable Analytics Tiles and Dashboards and select the appropriate options.
7. Choose Next to move to the Preview tab.
8. Select Save.

• Administrators use Role-Based Permissions to control which users can view and run specific tiles or standard dashboards.
• To grant access, enable the Analytics Tiles and Dashboards permission within the Report Permissions category.
• Permissions can be restricted to specific tiles or granted for all available dashboards in the instance.
