Editing an Existing Tile or Dashboard

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to edit an existing tile or dashboard.

The Editing of Existing Tiles

Choose Edit from the Action dropdown of a Tile.

In Report Center, you can choose the action button of an existing tile and choose Edit to edit an existing tile. If the tile was originally built using the online tile builder, this will open the tile in the tile builder.

You can also edit dashboards utilizing the same action in Report Center. It will open the dashboard configuration screen adjusted for whether it is a tile-based dashboard or a standard dashboard.

After you have made your changes, save the tile/dashboard. The new configurations will be applied

Note

The system does not reapply the default filter settings for a dashboard/tile to all users when they are updated.

If you make changes for an existing dashboard/tile already shared, the changes may not take effect for all users. After sharing a dashboard/tile, if the user opens the filter panel and clicks on Apply Filter, the dashboard/tile will save a filter profile for that user and further changes made in Manage Dashboards are not going to be applied. However, if the user does not save their own filter profile then the changes will apply.
