You will learn how to configure number ranges in the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution. This application lets you assign number ranges that can be used to record document numbers. You'll create new entries, specifying the entity, index, validity, range, and increment. You'll also learn to activate and deactivate these entries, providing reasons as needed.

In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, this application can be found under the Configuration tab or use Configure Number Range in the open search section to access it. This application is to assign a series of numbers with in a range (From and To) and the corresponding object will consume this number ranges to record the document numbers.

Configuring Number Range
Click on Create as pointed in the figure above on how to create a new entry.
The configuration is dependent on the Entity picked while number range entry creation.
- Entity - Creation of a new number range entry requires the entity against which the range should be created
- Index - Incremental number depending on the existing number range entries for the same entity
- Valid until - A validity end date (year)
- From number - the start number of the number range sequence
- To number - the end number of the number range sequence
- Increment - a numeric that drives the number range increment that determines the next available number

Activation and Deactivation
When a new number range entry is saved, the status is set to Active by default. At any point in time, the number range entry can be deactivated by providing the right Deactivation Reason and optional comments. In the same way, deactivated entries can be activated by providing the right Activation Reason.
