You will learn how to configure reason codes in the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution. This application allows you to set up reason codes based on source and reason type, which are required to document any changes made to existing records in the system.

Introduction
Reason Code
In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, this application can be found under the Configuration tab or use Configure Reason Code in the open search section to access it. This application can configure the business cases when a change reason should be entered along with the list of reason codes for selection. This is required as any changes in the existing record should be rightly documented with a meaningful reason code.
Configuring Reason Code
The configuration is to setup reason code based on source and reason type from the dropdown list.
For the combination of source and reason type selected, the reason codes can be created with the following:
- Reason code of 250 characters
- Description of 250 characters, this description text is available in the Select reason dropdown list
Activation and Deactivation
When a new reason code is added, the status is set to Active by default. At any point in time, the reason code entry can be deactivated by providing the right deactivation Reason and optional comments. In the same way, deactivated entries can be activated by providing the right Activation Reason.
