Introducing Air Sorting Options

Introduction to Air Sort Options

Air sort options enhance the travel booking experience by letting users prioritize cost, convenience, or policy compliance. They save time, personalize results, and enable users and administrators to align bookings with individual and organizational needs.

Let’s look at some of the different air sort options.

Shop by Fares Default

This setting allows administrators to choose the default sorting criteria for flights returned when a user searches by price. Review the following graphic and corresponding information to learn more about each option in the dropdown menu.

Menu options include Preference Rank, Lowest Price, Earliest Departure, Earliest Arrival, Duration, Company Policy, Fewest Stops, Emissions, and Custom. Custom Sort Options

The custom sort feature enables administrators to create and customize the default sort order for search results. Users can still select different sorting options from the Sorted By dropdown, but the custom sort will be the initial display order if set as the default.

Setting up the custom sort option includes three simple steps:

  1. Select Custom as the default sorting option.
  2. Clear the Use Default checkbox and enter a name for the custom sort option (optional).
  3. Define the sorting order using the Primary Sort, Secondary Sort, and Tertiary Sort fields to define the sort order.

Note

The secondary and tertiary sorts are optional. You can select None from the dropdown menus if not applicable.

The following graphic provides a visual example of the settings activated for a "Custom" sort by fares default and how they appear to the user.

Primary Sort: Preference Rank; Secondary Sort: Company Policy; Tertiary Sort: Lowest Price. Shop by Schedule and Flex Faring Default: Fewest Stops. Hotel Sort Default: Preference Rank. A dashed arrow leads to the results page, where the Sorted By dropdown is highlighted and set to “NAI sorting”.
