Introducing Sorting Options

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the Sorting Options on the Travel Configuration Page.

Introduction to Sorting Options

In Travel System Admin, sort options set the default order of flight and hotel search results. Sort options include:

  • Fare
  • Schedule
  • Policy
  • Preference
  • Stops
  • Custom

The custom sort option offers additional flexibility, allowing administrators to define specific criteria for result ordering.

Note

These settings only affect the initial display. Users can change the sort at any time from the dropdown menu on the results page.

To access the Sorting Options on the travel configuration page, use CTRL+ F to search for the setting as shown in the following graphic.

Admin settings page with travel configuration. A yellow highlight outlines the “Sorting” section showing three dropdowns: Shop by Fares Default set to “Fewest Stops,” Shop by Schedule and Flex Faring Default set to “Fewest Stops,” and Hotel Sort Default set to “Preference Rank.” At top, the search box highlights “sorting” with result 1/1. Below are Rail Connectors and Amtrak Direct Connect options and fields.

Summary

  • Set defaults for Shop by Fares, Shop by Schedule/Flex Faring, and Hotel Sort
  • Choose from Fare, Schedule, Policy, Preference, Stops, or Custom for initial sort order
  • Use Custom sort to define tailored sorting criteria
  • Defaults only affect the first display; users can change sort on the results page
