Just Ask is the new natural language query feature powered by AI. With Just Ask, users can query SAP Analytics Cloud data models by asking questions in everyday English, and Just Ask will instantly provide answers as charts and tables. It supports SAP Analytics Cloud acquired data models and SAP Datasphere models.

In this lesson you use Just Ask to query salary data for the Sales Manager Department, and copy the results to your existing story. A second data model containing SuccessFactors HR data will also be added to your story.
After completing the lesson, your story (in edit mode) should look similar to:

If you did not complete the prerequisite units, you can continue from a pre-created sample story.
Please create a copy of MyStory - Select - Just Ask in your private My Files folder.
From the Navigation Bar click Files, and search for MyStory - Select - Just Ask.

Check the box, and click the Copy To icon from the Files Toolbar.

Save a copy to your private folder.
Click on My Files and name your story with your username _MyStory, update Description, then click OK.

Open your story in edit mode if not already.
Locate _MyStory from the navigation bar at Files -> My Files, or Stories -> Recent Files.

Select Edit.

Launch Just Ask and search for salary data.
Click Just Ask from the Main Toolbar.

Close to Welcome message.
[Alternative] You know which models contain the salary data.
[Alternative] Before entering your question, select the model in the Select Model dropdown.
The dropdown has a list of available models already indexed for Just Ask.

You can also search Just Ask without selecting specific models. The underlying artificial intelligence will search the most relevant models.
In the Ask a question field, enter show me salaries by position, and click Search.

By default, the results are displayed as a chart.
View the generated chart and underlying model used.

You want to further refine our search to view only salaries for the Sales Manager Department.
Update the search, show me salaries by position for the Sales Manager Department, and press Enter or click Search.
Add for the Sales Manager Department to the search text.

You have the option to switch the chart to a table.
Click on the Table option to display the results in tabular format.

The data can also be analyzed further.
Click the Analyze Data to display the results in the Data Analyzer.

The Data Analyzer opens in a new tab.
Within the Data Analyzer, you can:

Close the Data Analyzer tab and go back to the Table format tab.
[Optional] If you want to continue exploring your data, use any of the Suggestions to the right to run a search for the suggested search input.

Copy the generated chart to your existing story.
Click Chart to go back to the chart format.

Make sure that the chart shows Salary per Department, Position, then click Copy.

Select Exist Just Ask to go back to your story.

Select area where you want to copy the chart too.
Click Copy and Paste -> Paste, from the the Edit menu in the Top Toolbar.

Resize the new chart widget if needed.
Save your story.

View the generated chart settings.
Click on the chart and open the Right Side Panel, from the View menu in the Top Toolbar.
View chart settings in the Builder tab.
See the new Data Model added, Accounts, Dimensions and Filter settings created from your Just Ask search.
You have the option to enhance the chart.
