Implementing Microsoft Teams Integrations

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to implement Microsoft Teams integrations to streamline communication and workflows

Microsoft Teams Integration

Integrating Microsoft Teams with SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 offers several significant benefits that improve collaboration, communication, and overall sales effectiveness.

Prerequisites

  • The integration needs a Microsoft 365 account.
  • Users need to have a Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online license.
  • Users need the same email IDs in both MS 365 and SAP Sales Cloud Version 2.
  • Users need to have an E3/E5 license assigned in the MS 365 admin center.
  • Only administrators enable Microsoft Teams integration.
  • In Cross-Site Request Forgery Settings, the system enables the Strict mode by default for third-party integrations. Change it to None.

Add the Sales and Service Cloud App in MS Teams

Add the SAP Sales and Service Cloud app in the Microsoft Teams app by searching SAP "Sales and Service Cloud" inTeams appsManage apps.

The SAP Sales and Service Core page highlights the search bar, tabs, and overview.

Configure the MS Teams Integrated Features

Administrators configure the MS Teams integration using the path User MenuSettingsAll SettingsMicrosoft Teams Integration.

The Settings page highlights the search bar for finding teams and the Microsoft Teams integration card to configure.

Enable Microsoft Teams-integrated features by providing consent.

On the Microsoft Teams Integration page, you can consent to shared workspaces, collaboration rooms, and team meetings without having to consent actively. The outbound call toggle keeps activated.
  1. Share Workspace and Collaboration Room:
    • Enable the Collaboration Room and Share Workspace separately.
    • If you enable Create Teams, the system allows creating a new team while using the Share Workspace feature.
    • If you enable the Post Sync, the system syncs all the posts in the related Teams channel from the "Posts" tab to SAP Sales Cloud Version 2.

There are two permission types to choose from:

    • Application Permission: The administrator needs to consent for all the users.
    • Delegated Permission: The administrator needs to consent for your organization.

Start the consenting process using the "Provide Consent" link.

  2. Teams Meeting:

Enable the Teams Meeting, then start the consent process using the "Provide Consent" link.

  3. Outbound Calls:

Enable Outbound Calls because you don't need consent to activate the outbound call feature.

    Note

    • The Post Sync feature is only applicable for Collaboration Rooms.
    • To use this feature, you need to turn off the Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) if it's configured in the solution.
    • You need to have a valid and active SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 account to log in to the mobile app.

Summary

Here's a summary of the settings you learned in this lesson:

  • Prerequisites: The integration needs a Microsoft 365 account, Office 365 Exchange Online license, matches the user email IDs in both systems, and E3/E5 licenses for users. Only administrators can enable the integration.
  • Cross-Site Request Forgery Settings: The system enables the strict mode by default for a third-party integration and sets it to "None" for Microsoft Teams integration.
  • App Installation: The system adds the SAP Sales and Service Cloud app to Microsoft Teams through the Teams app store.
  • Integration Configuration: Administrators configure Microsoft Teams integration in SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 settings and enable features such as Collaboration Room, Share Workspace, Create Teams, and Post Sync.
  • Permissions and Consent: Administrators offer consent for integration features, choosing between the Application Permission (consent for all users) and Delegated Permission (consent for the organization).
  • Extra Features: The Teams Meeting integration needs an administrator’s consent, while the system activates the Outbound Calls feature without consent.
