Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to use the data analyzer

SAP Analytics Cloud Data Analyzer helps with ad-hoc analyses based on SAP Analytics Cloud models.

Note

After saving, the side panels within SAC may be hidden.
  1. Select the Right Side Panel button to open the Builder panel.

  1. Select the table and select the Builder icon in the right side panel.

  1. Under Properties, select Enable Data Analyzer

  1. Select the Right Side Panel button to close the panel.

  1. Click the More Actions button

  1. Follow the menu path Open Data Analyzer… > Open in New Tab

Note

The Data Analyzer window will be opened in a new tab in your browser.
  1. In the Data Analyzer, if the Designer Panel on the the right of the screen is not open by default, click the Expand button to open it.

Note

By default,

  1. To display values, select the SignedData option from the Measures section.

  1. To enable drilldown by date, select the Columns icon next to Date.

  1. To display values for each product, select the Rows icon next to Products.

Note

The report now shows the values in a more consumable format:

We now want to make this report available as a link from the original report.

  1. Click the Save icon and then choose Save from the menu drop-down.

  1. In the popup, enter a name for the Insight (Insight Admin XXX) and click Save.

Ensure that the Insight is saved locally under

Once created, add a link to the Insight to your story.
  1. In your web browser, select and copy the URL of the Insight.

  1. Click the previous tab containing the Story. Select the table, click More Actions, Add, Hyperlink.

Select the following values in the side-panel:

  • Link to - External URL
  • External URL - The previously copied link to the Insight
  • Label - Insight by Product

Choose the Open in New Tab option

  1. Click Done.

  1. To access the Insight from the Story, click Navigate to External URL and click the name of the Insight.
