Import Data
Objective
Having created our model structure we can now import some data to populate it. In this instance we will do this from a CSV file, but other data sources could also be used.
Now we are ready to import our data.
- From within your model select the Data Management workspace.

- Under Import Jobs select the Import Data icon.

- In the Select a data source drop-down that appear, select the File (Local File or File Server).

Select the Select Source File button.

Select the file Data_PnL_Actual.txt from the Datasets folder.

Select Import.

- Select the import job in the table and select Set Up Import.

- On the Prepare Data screen, In the Overview section, there are 62 issues related to the value SignedData.

- Select the clickable link 62 issues to display the cause.

- Set the Data Type field to Number to resolve the issues. You will get confirmation that it has been successfully changed and no issues detected.

- Select Next to proceed to the next screen.

- You are now in the Map to Facts screen. Here you can map the remaining columns. Drag and drop the following values from Source Columns to Unmapped:

ENTITY to Organisation
-
PRODLINE to Products
-
SIGNEDDATA to Measure_AdminXXX

- The following screen is displayed:

Select Next.

The following screen allows you to review the mapping properties. Select Next to validate the data.

- Once the data is validated, a confirmation message will appear. Select Run Import to import the validated data.

- Review the model settings and select Finish to import the data.
