Introduction

Imagine you're a business administrator tasked with ensuring that incoming requirements are automatically categorized and assigned appropriate values. This saves time and ensures consistency. RVC Configurator is the tool that allows you to configure the rules that drive this automation within the Requirements Valuation Cockpit (RVC) by CENIT.

RVC Configurator

Decomposer of RVC is designed to automatically assign values to certain properties of requirements. This automatic matching is done based on some configured keywords, the requirement has in its title or description.

For this concept to work as intended, there needs to be a configuration of rules, which define which keywords should be used for assigning which value to which property. This configuration is done in the RVC Configurator application.

RVC Configurator is intended to be used by business administrators who are familiar with the business subject. These users need to have the RVC role RVCAdminBusiness to be able to access and use the application.

RVC Configurator allows configuration of four different kinds of data:

EntityDescription
PropertyRequirement property, to which the decomposer points
Property ValueValue for a requirement property, which is set by the decomposer in case a keyword of a rule matches to the requirement title or description
RuleCollection of conditions for the decomposer to make a match. A rule is defined for a single property and a property value in one language. Rules are based on keywords. If a keyword belonging to a rule is found in requirement’s title or description, that rule applies to the requirement and its Property field will be set to the PropertyValue of the rule
RulesetCollection of decomposer rules. Requirements projects can be assigned decomposer rulesets upon creation. RVC Decomposer primarily considers rules belonging to that ruleset for that requirements project
