Publishing Development Goals in the Profile

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to publish development goals to the People Profile.

The Development Goals Portlet

Users are able to share their development goals within their Employee Profile (People Profile) if the portlet is configured. To use the Development Goals portlet in the profile, the corresponding background element XML code sysScoreCardDevelopmentObjectivesPortlet has to be configured in the Succession Data Model. You can configure this feature with your implementation consultant or you can create a new background element using Manage Business Configuration.

The background element code sysScoreCardDevelopmentObjectivesPortlet configuration is displayed.

Caution

The field title is required.

Once the portlet exists in the Succession Data Model, you can use Action Search to navigate to Configure People Profile and add the portlet to the profile.

The Action Search field is displayed with Configure People Profile highlighted.

The Development Goals block is available under the Talent section.

The Configure People Profile screen is displayed with the Development Goals block highlighted.

You can drag and drop the Development Goals block where you wish it to be located in the profile. You can also enlarge this portlet and rename the subsection. Save the modifications you made in Configure People Profile.

The details for the Development Goals block are highlighted.

As with any newly created portlets, the role-based permissions need to be updated. Using Action Search, navigate to Manage Permission Roles. Select the roles that should be able to use the Development Goals portlet. Under the User Permission, the Development Goal Portlet is found in the background section for the category Employee Data. Save the modified permissions.

The Development Objectives Portlet option is highlighted in the Add Permissions stage of the Edit System Admin section.

If development goals are not appearing in the People Profile, it could be because there is also an XML switch in the development plan template that needs to be enabled. You can work with your implementation consultant to ensure the switch is in the plan template.
