Publishing Development Goals in the People Profile

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain how to publish development goals to the People Profile.

Development Goals in the Latest People Profile

The Latest People Profile can be configured to list an employee's Development Goals under the Learning and Development category. From the Development Goals card, you can:

Open the Goal Details page for any listed Development Goal.
Go to the Development Goals page to work with any of the Development Goals.

The Learning and Development Category is selected with the Development Goals card highlighted.

Development Goals People Profile Card Enablement

Before enabling the Development Goals card in Latest People Profile, make sure the correct permissions have been configured for the roles that will need to view or edit the development goals. In role-based permissions make sure the role has the User Permission→Goals→Goal Plan Access permission. Also make sure the read field permission is configured for the name, due, and state goal fields.

To enable the Development Goals card for the People Profile, use action search and navigate to Configure Latest People Profile. This opens the People Profile Configuration tool to the Spotlight configuration.

Select Learning and Development to open the category and configure the Development Goals card.

The Learning and Development category with the available cards to be configured is shown.

There are two ways to show Development Goal information in the People Profile card:

Select a single goal plan template, and the Development Goals card shows the top four goals (sorted by creation date in descending order) within that goal plan.
Select up to 4 goal plan templates, and the card shows a list of the goal plan names with the number of goals under each plan.

Development Goal Card Configuration

Steps

Select the pencil icon to edit the card.
Check the box to make the Development Goals card Visible on Full Profile.
Enter Card Help (optional).
Add the first Development Plan Template by selecting +Add and choosing a template name.
Add more goal plan templates to show in the card, or if you just wish to see the goals from one goal plan Save your changes.

Result

The Development Goals card configuration screen is displayed.

Summary

The four top goals from one development goal plan template can be shown, or up to four goal plans can be listed with the number of goals in each goal plan.
