With the Delegation feature, Managers in the organization can delegate their performance review tasks to other people within a specified time period. It also allows administrators to create delegations on behalf of managers. This feature can be enabled in Company System and Logo Settings→Enable Delegation Feature.
Additionally, there's a parameter that can be set to determine when a delegation request for Performance Reviews should be automatically canceled if the delegatee does not accept or declines the request. You can enter any number larger than 0 for the field Specify a date range for automatic cancellation of a delegation request if no action is taken by the delegatee.
The roles involved in Delegation for Performance Reviews are:
- Initiator: Someone who initiates a delegation by creating a delegation request. An initiator can be the delegator themselves, or an administrator who creates a delegation on behalf of the delegator.
- Delegator: Someone whose task is delegated to someone else. In the context of performance reviews, delegators are usually managers.
- Delegatee: Someone who is delegated with a task, like matrix managers or another manager who can act on behalf of a manager not available.
- Employee: The subject user of the delegated task, typically direct reports whose forms are reviewed.
