Modifying Attribute Sections

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to modify the Attribute Sections in the performance form template.

Attribute Section Advanced Options

The Show advanced options link allows for additional configurations to the attribute section. Options might be different when the attribute type is set to Competency or Skill.

These options are defined in the table below. Those options that are supported as well for skills will have the same name, but replacing competency with skill.

Attribute Section End User View

Attributes (Competencies or Skills) display in the attribute section. Depending on configurations, these can be Core, Job-Specific, Custom, or they can be manually added by the end user. In Talent Intelligence Hub (TIH), competencies and skills are referenced as attributes, and Skills can only be rated on the form with TIH enabled.

This screenshot shows an example of an end user Core Values competency section in a performance review (for Emily Clark).

Edit the Core Values Attribute Section

Business Example

In this exercise, you edit the Core Values section of a performance form.

Steps

  1. Assign some of the competencies with the Core tab in Talent Intelligence Hub.

    1. Navigate to Manage Talent Intelligence Hub using Action Search.

    2. On the Attributes tab, locate this competency: Adapting to Change.

    3. Select it to navigate to the details.

    4. Choose Edit.

    5. On the Tags, type Core to display this tag on the options, and select it. You can also select the Select Tags icon and complete the step from there.

    6. Choose Save.

    7. Repeat these steps to assign another competency of your choice as Core, assigning the corresponding tag.

  2. Navigate to Manage Templates using Action Search, and select the Performance Review tab.

  3. Open the template that you attached a route map and rating scale to in a previous exercise.

  4. Expand Edit Fields and Sections.

  5. Choose the Core Values attribute section.

  6. Verify that the Attribute Type is Competency, and the Section Type has the Core option selected.

  7. The competencies that you assigned with the Core tag in Talent Intelligence Hub should be visible here. Continue editing this section.

The stack rank checkbox should not be editable, because you selected the option to Stack Rank Employees Globally in the General Settings section. Stack ranker only allow side-by-side ratings on competencies that match up for the entire team of employees. Even if stack rank globally is enabled, you should only see competencies that are the same across all employees to rank.

  8. Expand advanced options and check the following, if not already enabled:

    • Include the ability to rate
      • Everyone has their own rating box for each item
      • The Final score is the EM’s rating
    • Include an Overall Comment
    • Include in overall Competency rating calculation
    • Display in Competency section
    • Include in overall performance summary section rating
    • Display Section in Summary
    • Show Calculated Section Rating
  9. Choose Save.

Edit the Job Specific Attribute Section

Business Example

In this exercise, you will edit the Job Specific Attribute section in your performance form template to populate Skills instead of Competencies.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Manage Templates using Action Search, and select the Performance Review tab.

  2. Open the template that you attached a route map and rating scale to in a previous exercise.

  3. Expand Edit Fields and Sections.

  4. Choose the Role Specific Competencies Section.

  5. Rename the section to Skills and Aspirations.

  6. Replace the existing description to the following one: This section is for evaluating the Skills associated to the Job Role. Each skill should have a rating and comments can be enhanced using AI capabilities.

  7. Change the Attribute Type from Competency to Skill.

  8. Leave the Section Type as Job Specific.

  9. Expand advanced options and check the following, if not already enabled:

    • Allow users to add skills.
    • Include the ability to rate.
      • Everyone has their own rating box for each item
      • The Final score is the EM’s rating
    • Include a comment for each item.
    • Show expected skill rating.

    • Display Section in Summary.
