Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Provide an overview of Organization Charts and the navigation of Company Organization Chart.
  • Explain the Matrix Managers and the photos in the Company Organization Chart.

Organization Charts

Organization charts provide hierarchical views of the reporting relationships of people or positions in your organization.

SAP SuccessFactors offers four types of organization charts:

  1. Company Organization Chart
  2. Succession Org Chart
  3. Position Organization Chart
  4. Calibration Org Chart

This PTO focuses on the Company Organization Chart. For more information about:

Company Organization Chart

The Company Organization Chart is a hierarchical view of the reporting relationships of people in your organization. It is the most basic and widely used type of organization chart that SAP SuccessFactors offers.

It displays the direct and matrix manager reporting relationships of the users. However, it does not show the HR relationships.

For SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central customers, future new hires are shown as the direct reports of managers. You can also choose to display contingent workers. These customers will also have the option to add a new employee from the Org Chart.

Company Organization Chart Navigation

To go to the Org Chart, from the Main Menu, click on Company Info. The Org Chart will be the first sub-tab.

Users can navigate up in the hierarchy.

Users can navigate down the hierarchy by clicking on the Team Size number. The Team Size is at the bottom of the organization chart node of any user who has direct or matrix reports.

Users can export the Company Organization Chart and save it as a PDF file or an image.

Matrix Managers in the Company Organization Chart

If a manager has matrix reports and you are viewing the Org Chart for the manager, the matrix reports are connected to the matrix manager with dotted lines.

With the Display Options, available by clicking on the eye or wheel icon, users can choose to display direct reports only, matrix reports only, or both.

There is also a company-wide option for administrators to hide the matrix managers in the Org Chart.

Photos in the Company Organization Chart

To enable photos in the Org Chart, use Action Search to navigate to Org Chart Configuration. To display photos in the Org Chart, check the box: Display Photo.

Note

As of 2H 2022, if the Horizon visual theme for SAP Fiori is enabled, portrait photos will still appear square.
