Comparing and Prioritizing Use Cases

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to use the Value Heatmap to help workshop participants evaluate their use cases based on business value and complexity, and collaboratively decide which use cases should be prioritized for implementation.

Use Case Prioritization

The Value Heatmap is a tool used to visually compare AI use cases based on their business value and complexity. By positioning each use case on the map, participants can collaboratively evaluate which ideas offer the most strategic impact and are most feasible for implementation. This process helps the team prioritize which AI initiatives to pursue and identify quick wins, ensuring that resources are focused on the most promising solutions.

Let’s summarize what you’ve learned:

  • Present Use Case Briefs: Participants share their AI use case ideas with the group for feedback.
  • Position on Value Heatmap: Use cases are placed on the Value Heatmap, comparing their business value and complexity.
  • Adjust Positions: The relative position of each use case may change as new ideas are presented.
  • Use Post-its if Needed: If space is limited, write solution names on post-its for easier placement on the heatmap.
  • Prioritize Use Cases: As a team, decide which use cases should be prioritized based on their position on the heatmap.
