Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to initiate and Process a Material Return

Provisions: Return Delivery

In this lesson, you will learn about:

  • How return deliveries are used for provision materials
  • How to return materials manually
  • How to return materials automatically

Scenario

  • Return deliveries can be used to return excess stock of Force Elements.
  • Return deliveries can be created manually or automatically.
The image outlines the methods for creating return deliveries in the SAP system. It states that return deliveries can be created manually in the S/4 HANA D&S backend transaction ISDFPS/STOCK_RETURN for materials in stock of a Force Element. Alternatively, return deliveries can be created automatically based on Material Master and Customizing settings for the Return Process, as described in the Stocks chapter. The image also shows options to Create Return Delivery Plans and Disband Force Elements in Operations.

SAP Fiori wraparounds for backend transactions can be used to trigger a manual return delivery.

The image shows the SAP system interface for creating Return Delivery Requisitions and processing Return Deliveries. It displays the default values for the Returning Force Element, including the Force Element, Plant, and Star Location. The text explains that the Return Delivery process creates a requisition where the tactical unit is the supplier and the logistics activity is the receiver.

The processing of a return delivery requisition is not different from a regular one: it has to be converted into an order and issued using an outbound delivery.
