Managing Status in Flight Operation

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain the different kind of statuses of Defense and Security line maintenance

Technical Status

The image depicts a workflow diagram for aircraft operations, including steps to define master data, create a flight, assign an aircraft, check and change the flight status, report malfunctions, and update technical status. The workflow includes a status board displaying information about the flight.

The Status Board application provides an overview of the current technical situation, which affects operations, for the selected technical objects. The master equipment, equipment, and functional locations are displayed with their dependent objects.

The status board is a summary of information from the following standard objects:

  • Technical object
  • Notification
  • Order
  • Flight
  • Measurement document
  • Measuring point
  • Maintenance plan
  • Revision
The image depicts an overview of the technical and operational status of aircraft, including information about the flight status, maintenance orders, user status, technical objects, and notifications. The diagram shows the relationship between these different elements and how they interact to provide a comprehensive view of the aircraft's operational and technical status.

On top of the Technical Status of Maintenance Processes and Technical Objects, and Operational Status of Technical Objects; the Defense and Security Support for Flight Operations supports the Flight Status, which is integrated as a User Status on Flight Maintenance Orders.

The Flight Status allows the tracking of the execution of the flight, such as readiness for takeoff, takeoff, in flight, landing or various aborts.

Operational Status

The image appears to be a screen from an SAP system called Change Flight 4000100. It displays information related to a flight, including the flight number, force element, order type, mission, and external ID. The image also shows various flight data, such as the system status, flight status, model ID, and aircraft configuration. Additionally, it includes a section for status with a status number and corresponding text.

The individual process steps of flight operation are monitored using various statuses, which can be configured in Customizing as User Status for notification and order types. You can display the various current statuses for one or more aircraft in the system at any time. The status can also be used to control user authorizations.
