Importing and Exporting Talent Intelligence Hub Entities

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to use Integration Center to import and export TIH entities.

Integration Center

The Integration Center allows you to build, run, schedule, and monitor simple integrations. It simplifies the common export and import use cases and you can build integrations quickly and easily through a guided workflow. You can use the available predefined templates for building integrations, and you can also create your own templates for the same.

Integration Center supports both file and Web Service-based outbound integrations. For file-based integrations, Integration Center supports CSV, TXT, XML, and EDI/Stacked formats. For Web Service-based outbound integrations, Integration Center supports SOAP and REST outbound integrations. Also, Integration Center supports CSV-based inbound integrations.

Integration Center is part of the SAP SuccessFactors HCM solution. Integrations with ODATA APIs can be built for different modules, such as Employee Central, Recruiting, Performance and Goals, or Succession Management.

In the context of Talent Intelligence Hub, you need to create outbound integrations by using Integration Center to allow you to import and export TIH data. In the tool, you import the Integration Definitions first, and then create and run the integrations by using an SFTP location to store the files to be imported as well as a destination to export data.

Note

All things about Integration Center tool can be found in the SAP Help Portal: Using the Integration Center

The SAP Business Accelerator Hub includes the built-in templates that can be imported into Integration Center. The catalog for SAP SuccessFactors can be located here: https://api.sap.com/products/SAPSuccessFactors/overview

Import Data into Talent Intelligence Hub with Integration Center

In the following steps, you'll learn how to create and run an integration in Integration Center and import new attributes (Skills) into Talent Intelligence Hub.

Prerequisites

It's required to have an SFTP account where files can be stored and imported into the system or exported into that location.

Steps

  1. Export or create the CSV file for the Talent Intelligence Hub element you wish to import (for example, Tags, Attributes, and so on). If you choose to create the CSV file, the header must contain the columns relevant for each entity. This information can be found in the SAP Business Accelerator Hub on the Overview page of the integration package.

    Note

As an example, the Talent Intelligence Hub Attribute Import file must contain the following fields:
    • default Locale
    • external ID
    • name
    • description
    • type
    • status
  2. Complete the CSV file with the data that you want to import and save the file with a meaningful name (like AttributeImport.csv)

  3. Log on to the SFTP server and select the folder from where SAP SuccessFactors can retrieve the CSV file (an example of a folder name could be TIH_Import).

  4. Upload the CSV file into the SFTP location.

  5. Download the Integration Center Definition (ICD) from SAP Business Accelerator Hub.
