In Opportunity Marketplace, all item cards are categorized into the following sections: .

  • Broaden your Experience. Assignments created within Opportunity Marketplace are displayed in this section. Assignments are internal work opportunities that last for a specified time, usually shorter than 12 months, and can be full-time or part-time. Typical assignments include Projects, Fellowships, Vocational training, Internships and Others.

Users can select an assignment to review and apply, bookmark assignments that are relevant or select Not Interested to remove it from the results. When selecting Explore More, there’s a search menu by Type, Location, Work Mode or Participation or filter by attributes from Growth Portfolio (Talent Intelligence Hub).

  • Discover Open Jobs. Internal job postings from Recruiting Management are displayed in this section.
  • Learn New Skills. Five types of learning opportunities can be displayed in this section: Course, Curriculum, Program, Collection and QuickGuide.
  • Connect with People. Two types of mentoring opportunities are displayed in this section: Mentors and Mentoring Programs, but Mentors will only show up if the employee signed up for a mentoring program. When selecting Explore More, you can search beyond for Mentors and Mentoring Programs to Sign in.
  • Explore Career Options. Job roles are displayed in this section and can be added as target roles (Suggested Roles within Career Worksheet or Career Explorer feature).

Note

When no recommended opportunity is available for one section, the section will have an option Explore Now which would navigate to a searching menu to find opportunities. Opportunities that have been bookmarked, completed, or are currently in progress, aren't recommended again.
Select the Explore Now button.

Recommendation Logic in Opportunity Marketplace

Assignments in the Broaden Your Experience section, are recommended by matching the following criteria:

  • Required skills/attributes match skills that the user already has.
  • The location of the assignment matches the user's location.

Recommendations for Open Jobs are as follow:

  • For customers using Growth Portfolio, the opportunity, from the pool of the latest 1000 open jobs, that best matches the user's skills and attributes from their Growth Portfolio is prioritized.
  • The opportunity's title matches the user's target role.
  • The opportunity's title matches the user's job code name.
  • The opportunity's job code matches the user's job code.

The recommendations displayed in Learn New Skills are based on:

  • Admin Recommendations: Recommended through Assignment Profiles and identified by the label of Recommended by Learning Team.
  • Peer Recommendations: Recommended by peers and identified by the label that indicates who recommend it.
  • Personalized Recommendations based on machine learning algorithms* (currently in Early adoption)
Learning opportunities are shown in the Learn New Skills section

The recommendations for Connect with People are based on the recommended mentors that match the employee's preferences from one or multiple programs that the employee joined. If they haven't joined any mentoring program, they only get recommended mentoring programs from open enrollment, supervised, and unsupervised program types.

Mentors and Mentoring Programs are recommended in Connect with People

For the Career Options, the recommendations can be based on Suggested Roles or Career Explorer.

The Suggested Roles feature uses an algorithm based on proximity of role in Career Path, Competencies associated with the role, common job family, open positions for the role and popularity of the role within the team

Career Explorer synchs data from SAP SuccessFactors to SAP AI Business Services and generates recommendations based on Background Information, Employment Information and Competency ratings.
