The Army Logistics Modernization Project (LMP) has one of the world's largest, fully integrated supply chain, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) planning and execution solutions. It manages over $22 billion in inventory with tens of thousands of vendors. It also has more than 25,000 users at over 50 locations globally.

The primary objective for Army Material Command (AMC) was to provide a fully integrated system with business processes that streamline the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), planning, finance, acquisition and supply of weapon systems, spare parts, services, and material to the soldiers. They also wanted to provide increased financial transparency and eliminate the business risks and high costs associated with the AMC's outdated legacy systems.

The key benefits that were achieved are outlined here:

  • It eliminated stovepipe systems by providing one version of the truth, and therefore, improving data accuracy and quality.
  • The financial close process has been streamlined, including increased traceability and auditability.
  • Achieved significant cost efficiencies, as well as increased visibility and consistency of AMC's supply chain operations.
  • Provided a scalable landscape that can be extended to provide additional functionality for shop floor operations, equipment master, and plant maintenance.

The implementation resulted in the following:

  • 48 legacy systems retired
  • 95% data accuracy
  • 97% <2 second response time
