Explaining Accounting Functionalities in the Force Element Apps

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain accounting functionalities in the Force Element Apps.

Force Element Apps

Accounting overview for a force element showing assigned cost centers, profit centers, controlling areas and company codes with their validity dates and active statuses.

The Accounting Overview and Account Assignment tabs can be seen in the details view of the Manage Force Elements app. Their functionality is explained in the following figures.

  1. The Controlling Area has to be assigned only once on the Root Object and it will be inherited through the whole Force Structure.
  2. Company Codes can be assigned to several Force Elements, which belongs to the same Controlling Area*.
  3. The Funds Management Area is only displayed in this tab page. The determination of the Funds Management Area works through the assignment to the Company Code.

Note

* Multiple Company Codes within the Force Structure is not supported in an distributed ERP System environment.

The overview of which objects are directly assigned to the Force Elements, and which objects are inherited and from which Force Elements, they inherit the attributes.

The Accounting Overview tab helps you to quickly determine the Controlling master data objects that were assigned vs. inherited for the selected Force Element.

  1. Selection of the Accounting Relationship
  2. Depending of the chosen Accounting Relationship automatic creation and Assignment of the Accounting Object
  3. Status Change, Delimitation, and Deletion of the relationship between the Force Element and the Accounting Object
  4. Displaying the details of the Relationship to the Accounting Object

The Controlling tab group allows for the creation of the controlling objects and maintenance of the relationships between the force element and the controlling objects.

Funds‑management details for the battalion with an action menu offering options such as creating positions, operations, MRP areas and running the FM derivation tool.
  • The Funds Management tab includes the Funds Center information as determined by the FMDERIVE tool based on the other accounting information assigned to the Force Element
  • It is not possible to assign Funds Center directly in the Manage Force Elements app
  • The context menu in the header of the Manage Force Elements app can be called in order to provide a quick access to the FMDERIVE tool

  • On the WBS Element tab group, there are two different ways and purposes to assign WBS Elements to the Force Elements.
  • The Master WBS Element is foreseen for the following purposes: i. Additional Account Assignment Object for Operation ii. Only the Master WBS Elements are distributed in deployed System together with the deployed Organizational Structure respectively Operations iii. Assigned Flight Order to Force Element with a Master WBS Element are automatically assigned with the Master WBS Element iv. The Additional WBS Element Assignments are only for various reporting purposes foreseen

  1. Selection of the Master WBS Element action
  2. Pop-up to create a new Master WBS Element in an existing Project
  3. Pop-up to assign an existing WBS Element as a Master WBSE to the Force Element

As long as the Master WBS Element does not (yet) exist, the tab is called Additional WBS Element. The menu to assign or create the Master WBS Element is shown as part of the Additional WBS Element assignment block.

Creation of Additional WBS Elements or assignment of existing WBS Elements as Additionals to the Force Element is possible from the same tab.
