Configuring Continuous Performance Management (CPM)

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to configure Continuous Performance Management (CPM).

Configuration Validation

Continuous Performance Management (CPM) has an administrative console that simplifies configuration tasks.

In the General Configuration section, there is a Validate button that checks for any configuration errors and allows an administrator to generate a report (.json configuration file) that can be used to diagnose configuration issues.

This screenshot shows the Continuous Performance Management administrative console and the Validate Configurations feature.

Default View

The Default View section will allow an administrator to set up the landing page for Continuous Performance Management (CPM) end users using these options:

  • Activities View: This is the default view for the CPM landing page, allowing you to view all the activities by status or goal and create new activities.
  • Achievements View: To display the Achievements Summary and create achievements based on completed activities.

Activity Status Label

In the Activities View section, you can create new, configure existing, and delete existing Activity Statuses. You can select which Activity Status will be set by default when a new activity is created and which Activity Status will prompt a user to create an achievement based on an activity. You can also clear various activities after a 1:1 meeting between a manager and an employee is captured.

Feature Configuration

Many Continuous Performance Management (CPM) features can be easily turned on/off from the Continuous Performance Management Configuration Page (Administrative console).

This allows more flexibility in determining which features are more relevant to the organization.

Email Notifications

Email Notifications apply to modules beyond Continuous Performance Management. These notifications are not configured within the Continuous Performance Management Administrative Console. They are configured in Admin Center under Performance Management or Company Settings under Email Notification Template Settings.

Some notifications will require the Intelligent Services Center (ISC) tool.

You can check more information about Notifications with Continuous Performance Management in the Using Continuous Performance Management guide, available in the SAP Help Portal.
