Exploring Views

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to illustrate Channels, Activities, Meeting, and Achievements Views.

Channels in Continuous Performance Management

Continuous Performance Management uses Channels as a way for people to organize activities for sharing and discussing performance.

Image shows an example of a direct report channel accessed from the manager's view.
  • Manager - By default shows when the user has a manager.
  • Direct Reports - By default shows when the user has direct reports.
  • Additionally, Matrix Managers, Matrix Reports and Other Channels can be displayed, if the features for Matrix Relationship channels and Multiple Role Support are enabled by an administrator. For the other channels, an Invite button can be made visible to send an invitation to other users and have a 1:1 channel to discuss activities and achievements in common.

Activities View

Activities can be created and linked to Performance or Development Goals.

Attachments can be added for each activity to provide additional context or demonstrate work done in association with the activity.

The status defined to prompt an achievement will display an option to Mark as an achievement and designate when it was achieved (Achieved On field).

You can also drill down into Activity Details to post an update, link activity to a goal, view linked goals, view existing attachments, add new attachments, or even request feedback.

Request Feedback on an Activity will be available if Continuous Feedback is enabled.

Meeting View

The Meeting View in the latest Continuous Performance Management (CPM) version includes adding private notes only visible to the owner.

Current Activities can be displayed by Status/Goal and any Discussion Topics to review other topics not specifically related to the Activities.

A snapshot will be captured on Meeting finalization and accessible through the Meeting History.

Achievements View

Activities that were completed can be tagged as achievements. These will be available from the Achievements View.

New achievements can be added from this view, and an associated activity will also be created in this step.

Additional filtering options can display only those achievements from a specific date range or 3, 6, or 12 months.

The Activity Status that triggers an achievement, generally Completed, can be changed from the Admin Console, if needed.
