Using the Calibration tool

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Use the Calibration tool.
  • Manage Calibration Permissions.

Introduction

Using the SAP SuccessFactors Calibration tool, managers can discuss how to apply similar performance standards for all employees and help eliminate any potential manager bias. For example, before using performance review calibrations, all employees working for one manager may receive "outstanding" ratings. In contrast, employees working for another manager may receive various ratings for the same job. The reviews between the two teams would need to be calibrated to consider the different reviewing styles and get a better idea of who is doing well and who is not. Calibration establishes a common and well-understood definition of performance across the company.

The SAP SuccessFactors Calibration tool allows managers to view data for various teams and discuss the ratings they have selected. Facilitators can change the ratings based on the outcome of the Calibration Session.

Calibration Views

Calibration views provide users with information at a glance. From various Calibration views, you can:

  • Apply filters.
  • Add display options such as the count of employees per cell.
  • Choose the Print icon to generate a PDF document without photos.
  • Choose the Export button to generate an Excel file.

From the Bin Views and Matrix Views, you can also see the Unrated employees.

Calibration – Executive Review

Executive Review: Executive Reviewers can see a full aggregation of all data for all sessions in progress or finalized for a named calibration template.

From the Executive Summary View, users can now drill down into detailed information about calibration subjects. Users can look up specific session details and even make rating adjustments for each chart title/cell/bar, which shows aggregated figures or percentages.

Calibration Permissions

Administrators can easily define the different permissions for all the roles involved in the Calibration process from Manage Calibration SettingsPermissions. Depending on whether the sessions are in progress or approved, there are different permissions for Read, Export, and Delete.
