Exploring Master Data Associations

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe how data items are associated in SAP Fieldglass.

Master Data Associations

Business Units, Cost Centers, and Sites are mandatory data elements: without them, an organization cannot have a functional SAP Fieldglass tenant. But those three data elements can’t drive transactions unless they are associated with other types of data.

Play the video to learn about how associations to master data allow transactions to occur in SAP Fieldglass.

Summary

SAP Fieldglass relies on Master Data (Business Unit, Cost Center, Site) and their associations with other data elements (Users, Suppliers, Job Postings, etc.) to facilitate transactions. Master Data are independent, while other elements are dependent on them.

Key Points:

  • Master Data are mandatory: Business Units, Cost Centers, and Sites are essential for a functional SAP Fieldglass tenant.
  • Master Data are independent: They can exist without relying on each other.
  • Other data elements are dependent: Users, Suppliers, Job Postings, etc., rely on Master Data.
  • Transactions require data associations: Associations between Master Data and other elements drive transactions.
  • Data associations ensure transaction alignment: They help transactions adhere to buyer workflows and consider all variables.
