Placing an Advisor on a Page

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to place an Advisor on an SAP Fieldglass transaction page.

Advisor Placement

Advisor reports are displayed while viewing and approving transactional items. They provide key information to guide a user to make informed decisions or take action.

The Advisor Placement admin object allows you to determine on what SAP Fieldglass documents advisor notices will appear.

The Advisor Placement list works in conjunction with the Advisor admin object and shows the pages in SAP Fieldglass where an advisor will display. It is from the Advisor Placement admin object that you can add or remove an advisor association to a page, and you can preview an associated advisor.

Navigating the Advisor Placement Admin Object

1To view a list of active Advisors enabled in the application, select Advisor Placement from the Configuration section of the admin menu.

Advisor Placement List Page

The Advisor Placement admin objects displays a list of pages where advisors are enabled in the application, the section (if applicable) of the page, and the number of advisors associated to the specific page.

3Section indicates where exactly on the page the advisor is displayed.
4Number of Advisors displays the number of advisors currently associated to the specific page. The number displays as a link that can be selected to view the associated advisors.
5To view the details of associated advisors on a specific page, select the number link in the Number of Advisors column.

The Advisor list provides information on the Advisors currently associated to this page:

6Name provides the name of the advisor notice.
7Type displays whether the advisor is set up as Advisor Text, Report, Chart or Linear Gauge.

Placing an Advisor on a Page

WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, wants an advisor that reports on active workers to appear at the top of work order cost allocation tabs.

As the SAP Fieldglass administrator for WorkingNet, you need to apply the placement for the configured advisor so it displays correctly on the work orders.
