Applying Check Tool

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to configure email notification templates.

Check Tool

You can use the Check Tool to identify configuration and data consistency issues. The Check Tool goes over configuration files for potential problems and errors. It is recommended to run it before contacting support about an issue.

The following Job Requisition Template validations are provided as part of this tool:

  • Check Assessment Scale (Validates the assessment scale-id).
  • Check Default Language (Validates the default language used).
  • Check Recruiting Team (Validates that the Recruiting Team feature is enabled, if any the template has a field of type ‘operatorTeam’.
  • Check if custom Foundation Object and Generic Object fields have the same type and object-type when defined across multiple job requisition templates.
  • Check if the application status set and the statuses used in job requisition templates have been configured.
  • Check if the Enable Offer Approval feature is disabled when the Offer Letter Fields section is present in job requisition templates. Check to validate that certain application-specific fields are not defined in the Job Requisition template.
  • Check to ensure that business rules are not defined on the Job Requisition template.
  • Check to validate the format of CDATA field definitions.
  • Check to ensure that custom fields are defined with the attribute custom= true
  • Check to ensure that there are no duplicate field definitions.
  • Check to ensure that only mfields can be defined with the attribute multiselect = true

The following Candidate Profile Template validation are provided as part of this tool:

  • Check validating the correctness of the candidate profile template for errors.
  • Check validating the correctness of the candidate profile template for warnings.

Prerequisites

  • Role-based permissions have to be enabled in the instance, and the relevant permission needs to be granted to the user.
  • The Metadata Framework has to be enabled to use the Check Tool. Refer to the Implementing the Metadata Framework (MDF) guide for full information in setting up MDF.

Configuration

Once role-based permissions and MDF are enabled in the instance, the Check Tool can be enabled. Go to Admin CenterSet User PermissionsManage Permission RolesSelect permission roleClick Permission buttonAdministrator PermissionsCheck Tool. Select which permission you would like to assign to the user.

Working with the Check Tool

The Check Tool can be accessed through Admin Center. Once in the tool, select which application you would like to work with and click Run Check.

Check Results

When the check run is complete, the check tool displays the following results:

When the tool finds inconsistencies, it reports the inconsistencies and displays a yellow warning icon or a red alarm icon.

  • The yellow icon is a warning that indicates something not too serious is wrong. The system proposes a solution.
  • The red icon indicates that the problem is serious. You must take action, which might include creating a support ticket.
