Establishing roles is very important in Recruiting, because roles and responsibilities will vary by organization. Each recruiting operator has a letter assigned as defined in the next table. Derivatives can also be used within the recruiting module. Some common role derivatives are as follows:
- OM originator's manager
- OX originator's matrix manager
- OH originator's HR representative

Recruiting Operators
All operators to be used should be decided before implementation. Not all recruiting operators available need to be used. The label for the recruiting operator can be changed. The change needs to be done in the back end of the system.
Recruiting operators are used in the following situations to define user’s permissions:
- Job requisition route maps
- Job requisition fields permissions (including permissions controlling the ability to create interviews, generate offer letters and offer approvals, and the ability to close or re-open the job requisition)
- Candidate application fields permissions (including the Save and Cancel button permissions on the application record)
