What does good solution look like?

Now that we have some context about the WalkMe Apps are, let's take a look at what a good solution looks like!

In the video below, keep an eye out for the different WalkMe Apps used. You'll notice that all the WalkMe Apps are often used in conjunction with one another, for example:

  • The Player Menu or Launcher are used to start guidance

  • A Smart Walk-Thru is used to guide users through a process

  • And SmartTips are used to provide additional guidance to users throughout the process

Watch the video to view how different WalkMe apps are used together.

Setting Expectations

It's helpful to note that WalkMe Apps vary in terms of effort and complexity to create. Knowing this will help you set expectations for yourself and your stakeholders when building solutions. Here is a general categorization:

Next, we'll introduce the Hands-on Practice activities you'll see throughout the learning journey.

Hands-on Practice Introduction

Introduction

As a part of this learning journey, we will be using a fictional application called KLAW to provide you with hands-on experience for building in the WalkMe Editor driven by a realistic scenario.

Watch the video to go through the demonstration for building in the WalkMe Editor.

Note

Build Recommendations Message

To prevent users from building content they intend to publish in the wrong system, WalkMe has introduced real-time building recommendations(opens in a new tab).

If you try to select an element on a platfrom your current Editor System is not techncially configured for, WalkMe prompts you with a warning message.

This is a structured training, and you will never publish any of the content you're creating through this certification program, so our practice building is completely fine. We can ignore the message, and move forward!

The image shows an example of a warning message if you're building in the wrong system.

Select the "Dismiss and don't show again" option. Then, you will be able to build freely on the KLAW practice site.

Exercise Introduction

Additionally, throughout the learning journey you will find interactive exercises built into the self-paced learning content. These are meant to help you go through the physical actions of creating content here before we challenge you to apply them with the hands-on build activities in your Editor.

We use a practice site called Eddie's Pet Depot for these interactive exercises.

Watch the video for more context to help with building WalkMe content with Eddie's Pet Depot .
