Exploring Widget and Player Menu

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain the difference between Widget and Player menu.

Widget and Player Menu

The WalkMe Menu is a central repository for your help content.

Watch the video to understand WalkMe widget and player menu.

Key Takeaways
  • The WalkMe Menu is an "always on" help center for end users.

  • Here, we can place Smart Walk-Thrus, Resources, Shuttles, and Onboarding Tasks for users to activate whenever they need help.

  • The Menu Organizer is where we set up which content is available in the Menu.

Let's make sure we're familiar with the key terminology here.

Widget

The WalkMe Widget is a little tab or icon that appears on the outer edge of a user's screen. It's there to draw attention to the fact that help is available.

Watch the video to know more. Note that the video doesn't support audio.

Menu

When it opens, the WalkMe Menu provides the end user with a list of all the help content available to them.

You can organize how this content is grouped and the order in which it appears. The figure shows the WalkMe Menu.

Customize your Widget & Player Menu

We have the ability to:

  • Customize the Widget style

  • Change the Widget location on the page

  • Design the Menu to match company and site branding

  • Segment content to show it to specific user groups

To access the customization settings, click the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner of the Editor, and select Customize content style.
