Configuring Performance Parameter Structure

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Structure the parameter catalog to differentiate between parameter types
  • Structure the tracking parameter folder to differentiate between parameters of providers

Creation of Parameter Catalog Structure

One of the most important configurations for training management in SAP Sports One is the creation of performance parameters. Performance parameters are needed to track and monitor the individual development of the players. They also provide a way to measure progress in of fulfilling the clubs' visions in the area of training management.

For this reason, a structure for these performance parameters must be created as part of the initial system configuration.

In SAP Sports One, the performance parameters are basically divided into Diagnostic and Tracking parameters. The diagnostic parameters are primarily intended for performance tests, which are part of the area of performance. The tracking parameters, on the other hand, represent the performance data of the players, which were determined during training sessions by tracking providers. You can create separate performance parameter folders to reflect this division.

Note

To be able to manage the performance parameter in SAP Sports One, you need the role of administrator and the corresponding permissions. An overview of all SAP Sports One user roles is available on the SAP Help Portal (User Roles | SAP Help Portal).

If you have the required permissions, you can create the folder structure for your performance parameters in SAP Sports One at Performance Parameter in the catalog.

To create the Diagnostic and Tracking categories, choose Edit Catalog. This lays the foundations for parameter tracking in SAP Sports One.

Creation of Tracking Parameter Folder Structure

A subdivision to create clear performance parameter structures can also be made within the tracking parameter folder itself. At this point, it is particularly useful to differentiate between the tracking providers integrated in the club.

Furthermore, it is advisable to divide the tracking parameters of a tracking provider into parameter categories such as sprints, distance, or load.

It is advisable to name the folders according to the respective tracking provider. In this way, even when integrating several providers and using the same category for the parameters, a distinction can be made in SAP Sports One.

As a best practice, we suggest the following configurations for tracking parameter folder structure in SAP Sports One.

Best Practice: Tracking Parameter Folder Structure

Level 1 FolderLevel 2 FolderLevel 3 Folder
TrackingTracking Provider 1[TP1] Heart Rate
  [TP1] Distance
  [TP1] Duration
  [TP1] Acceleration
  [TP1] Deceleration
  [TP1] Sprints
  [TP1] Total Load
 Tracking Provider 2[TP2] Heart Rate
  [TP2] Distance
  [TP2] Duration
  [TP2] Acceleration
  [TP2] Deceleration
  [TP2] Sprints
  [TP2] Total Load

Note

Replace the name Tracking Provider 1 or the abbreviation TP1 with the name of the tracking provider used in your association.

To create a folder structure for the tracking parameters, select the appropriate parent folder and add a new subfolder. Folder structures can also be deleted and moved until the structure is satisfactory for your use case. In addition to naming the folder, you also have the option of adding a description. Here, for example, additional information about the tracking provider can be added.
