Creating Training Session Questionnaires

In addition to setting training objectives for a certain period of the season, macro planning also includes the creation of questionnaires, which are used in macro planning to obtain feedback from the players. Player feedback is extremely important for the training management process. For macro planning, for example, daily feedback provides added value for future planning periods. In this way, problems and shortcomings in training management can be reduced.

Depending on the respective case and period of macro planning, the questions asked and the design of the questionnaires can differ significantly. For example, a questionnaire that refers to the weekly training focus of the macro planning could differ one week later when a different training focus is planned.

However, there are also questionnaires that are used over the whole macro planning period or season. An example for this is a daily check-up, which asks about the well-being of a player and collects direct feedback. The creation of this questionnaire is an important part of the macro planning.

The following simulation guides you through the process of creating enhanced questionnaires used for training management in SAP Sports One.

Once a lot of questionnaires have been created in the system, it can become confusing. For this reason, you can filter according to the properties of the questionnaires in SAP Sports One. For example, you can display active questionnaires only or search for the schedule date of the questionnaire. To enable filtering, it is important to add the appropriate tags to the questionnaire. As soon as you choose Combinable with Events, you will see all questionnaires for which the option has been activated before.

As you can see in the screenshot above, it is also possible to manage the created questionnaires. An important management option is the concept of permissions. As you already know from other units, you can grant permissions to individual persons or groups. These persons or groups are then able to manage the questionnaire.

Last but not least, you have the option to display the latest results of the questionnaire or download all the responses from a certain time interval.

Many important analytical findings and insights can also be gained for the macro planning of training management. For example, player analyses can be conducted in the area of extended questionnaires to uncover potential for improving the macro planning process.

Here, the previously created daily check-up questionnaires can be used to track the players' current responses. On the other hand, the response results can also be observed over a longer period of time. It is particularly revealing to see how a player's well-being has developed over a certain period of time in the context of macro planning. This also makes it easier to identify and address player problems. In this way, the findings of the questionnaires also represent a kind of load control. An example of such an analysis in macro planning would be to determine whether a player is stressed over an extended period of time, and if so, what the consequences are.

The results of the enhanced questionnaires can be analyzed on a player and a team level. This ensures that individual needs can be identified, but also problems that run through the entire team or club can be identified. The graph below shows the trend of a player's answers to the daily check-up questionnaire. In this analysis, it can be quickly and clearly seen whether a player has problems in a question category in a certain period of time.

The results of the enhanced questionnaires are not only interesting for macro planning. These questionnaires can also be directly linked to a training session. In the course of micro planning, training procedures can be fine-tuned according to the responses of the players. For micro planning, load management is of particular importance.
